The Session is the governing body of John Knox Presbyterian Church. Comprised of the Pastors and the elected, active Elders from within the church body, the Session is responsible for the leadership, mission and governance of the church.

CLERGY: Dr. Jeffrey K. London (moderator), Rev. Dino Rustin

CLERK OF SESSION: Amy Feitel

Amy is beginning her first stint as Clerk in 2010 and we are excited to have her leadership on board. Amy and her husband, Tom, joined John Knox in 1988. Since then, Amy has been a Deacon, has served on the CDC board, and worked with several ministry teams. Tom and Amy have one married son, Don, who lives in Oxford, MS, with his wife, Susan.

 

 

CLASS OF 2010

  

Leah Price

Leah and her teenaged daughter, Jordan, have been members of John Knox since 2006. Leah has been involved with the Christian Education Ministry Team since that time, and has enjoyed several different outreach opportunities. In her free time (outside of raising a teen!), Leah enjoys reading, watching movies, and travel.

Bonnie Coulter

Bonnie and her husband Greg moved the fam out to Tulsa in 1999 when Greg was called as General Presbyter of the Eastern Oklahoma Presbytery. Bonnie has served as a Deacon, sung in the Choir, and led Project Merry Christmas. When she's not working, she enjoys a good read, a good nap, and being with friends and family.

 

Jeff Stewart 

Jeff first visited John Knox in 1998 while dating his wife, Mendy, but being a submarine officer in the United States Navy did not allow them to plant their feet in Tulsa until 2006. While mom stays home with their two young boys, Jeff is a project engineer at Helmerich and Payne while serving on the Finance Ministry Team.

Elaine Moore Jones

Elaine came to John Knox in the 1960s and has been very involved ever since. She has served as Deacon and a Trustee, and this is her second stint as Elder. She is a licensed funeral director and member of the Moore Funeral Home family. Elaine and her husband, Gary, enjoy golfing, fishing, and reading.

Lisa Rogers

Lisa was born and raised at John Knox. After a short time away. Lisa has been busy the last nine years, staying involved with the bell choir, Deacons ministry, Sunday School/LOGOS teaching, and Neighbors Along the Line. Lisa is also busy raising her teenage son, Kyle, while working as an RN at SJMC the last 20 years.

  

 

CLASS OF 2011

  

Steve Bell

Steve has been very active in church affairs most of his life and his time at John Knox has been no exception! Steve teaches adult Sunday School classes regularly and his passion is 1st Century Christianity and its Jewish roots. In his spare time, Steve is on faculty at Oklahoma State as an associate professor of engineering.

Kevin Burr

Kevin has been at John Knox since 2008 and he's excited to be a first-time Elder working with the Outreach Ministry Team. Kevin and his wife, Theresa, are regulars in the Chapel service, where Kevin has been a Liturgist. Kevin is the High School Superintendent of Tulsa Public Schools and enjoys fly-fishing and travel.

James Chavez

James has been around John Knox since the age of two. He and his wife, Shelie, have two children, Aidan and Brooke, who bring lots of joy! James owns the Auto Insurance Center of Tulsa, and pursues a variety of hobbies and interests. James is one of our elders on the Personnel Ministry Team.

Larry Hinkle

Larry and his wife, Susanne, have been integral to the ministry of John Knox in 2008. They are often spotted in the LOGOS kitchen, while making themselves available to a variety of Outreach and Deacons projects, mission trips with youth and adults, and Red Cross blood drives.

Wally Loerch

Wally and his wife, Ruth, have been members of John Knox since the early 1980s. Wally serves on the the Finance Ministry Team, and we are glad to have his 52 years of expertise. When he's not busy at the Morse & Co. accounting office, he enjoys singing barbershop four-part harmony and is a member of the Founders Chorus.

Michele Goff

Michele is serving her first stint as an Elder this year, but has served as a Deacon, while enjoying Habitat builds, mission trips, and teaching children's LOGOS. Michelle and her husband Larry have been John Knox members since 2004 and they are looking forward to many more years of serving the church.

 

Ted Cowan

Ted & Pat Cowan have been members of John Knox since 1965. They are often found in the Chapel service on Sunday mornings, in a Sunday School class, or helping the LOGOS Kitchen crew. Ted has served as an Elder and a Deacon, and he enjoys working with local groups Habitat for Humanity and Neighbors Along the Line.

 

Mollie Miller

Mollie has been attending John Knox since the age of 14. She has served in a variety of roles, including Elder and Deacon, member of Angelus Ringers, leading youth, and teaching Sunday School. Mollie is the principal of Kerr Elementary in Tulsa Public Schools, and enjoys shopping and making jewelry.

 

Tim Helms 

Tim is a first-time elder who served on the Associate Pastor Nominating Committee  and continues to teach LOGOS. Tim met his wife Jessica sometime during their childhood days in Duncan, OK. They are both proud Sooners, who got married and then graduated in 2006. Tim works for Ernst & Young as an auditor.

 

Sue Johnston 

Sue was born and raised in Tulsa, and was married to Tony for 37 1/2 years until his death in 2006. They have three children and two grandchildren. Sue is a second-time Elder, after having also served as a Deacon and a Trustee. In her spare time, Sue enjoys baking and decorating sugar cookies and hanging out with her grandkids.
